About

Architecture critic Jonathan Glancey explores the enduring appeal of the world’s most famous Design Icons.

Jonathan takes a tour of the futuristic Lloyd’s Building in London to reveal an unexpected 18th century surprise.

He uncovers the link between Britain’s World War II fighter planes and London’s iconic Routemaster bus, and explains why Parisian artists initially hated the Eiffel Tower.

Feature Length

After producing, editing and directing the series of 4x5min programmes for BBC Culture, I headed to the studio with Jonathan to shoot links and interviews.

I then cut together this expanded show into a 1x30min special for BBC World News TV. It was sponsored (outside the UK) by Rolex.

Behind The Scenes

Hiring not one, but two Routemaster busses has to be a career highlight!

The team and I travelled to Blackpool to find a lovingly-restored original Routemaster. Next we borrowed a brand new bus from Transport for London and drove it to the BBC's campus in White City, turning plenty of heads along the way!
