It was a pleasure to direct this special edition of BBC Click at the studios of BBC Scotland in Glasgow.
I was leading a team of 80 to achieve this highly-ambitious show full of live technology demonstrations. Featuring six cameras, a studio audience and even a live dairy cow!

Balancing the needs of a huge team of producers, technicians and contributors is never straightforward, but I love feeding off the teamwork and dedication that only a show of this ambition can produce.

Although directing during the studio days is important, my role on the production goes much deeper. Working together with producer Nick Kwek, I oversaw all technical aspects of the production including set design, lighting, sound, finance and production management.
As with all my work, I collaborated closely with the senior BBC Click editorial team to make sure that we got the maximum on-screen impact from our budget and studio time.
This edition was broadcast during the COP26 season of programmes to more than 350 million viewers on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel in the UK.

I am extremely proud of my work with BBC Click - not least because it combines my love of live performance with technology. Many of our demonstrations are at the cutting edge and I particuarly like the challenge of brining complex science to a wide audience - both in the room and on television.
